Install Tooling (D). Use Tooling (D) to pull up sprocket hub (14). Loosen bearing cone (15) on the spindle. Remove Tooling (D) and bearing cone (15) from the spindle.

Attach Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to sprocket hub (14) and remove sprocket hub (14). The weight of sprocket hub (14) is approximately 111 kg (245 lb).

Remove the Duo-cone seal from the hub.

Use Tooling (F) to remove bearing cups (17) .

Remove Duo-cone seal (18) from the spindle (19) .

Remove the bolts that hold the spindle to the case. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to the spindle (19). Install two 5/8 - 11 inch forcing screws (20) and remove spindle (19). The weight of spindle (19) is approximately 129 kg (284 lb).

Use a hammer and a punch to remove bearing cone (21) from the spindle.

Put a bead of weld around the inside diameter of bearing race (22). Remove bearing race (22) and O-ring seal (23) .

Install Tooling (G) in gear (24). Remove gear (24). The weight of gear (24) is approximately 52 kg (115 lb).

To remove the race and the idler assembly from gear (24), use a hammer and a punch.

Use Tooling (H) to remove thrust plate (25) from the case if a replacement is necessary.
Remove the final drive case from Tooling (A). Turn the case upside-down. The weight of the case is approximately 102 kg (225 lb).

Remove bolts (26) and remove retainer (27) that holds the pinion in the case.

Use Tooling (J) to remove pinion (28) from the case.

Use Tooling (K) and a suitable press to remove bearing cones (29) from the pinion.

Use Tooling (L) in order to remove the bearing cup from the case.
