Message display (1) LCD screenOperation
The monitoring system displays the machine functions on the LCD screen (1) of the message display. The message display receives information from all of the controllers on the machine via a CAN data link. Refer to Illustration 1.Power Up
The message display will initiate a powerup sequence when an input from the key start switch is received. The powerup sequence will include a functional test of the system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Self Test" in this manual for a description of this process.Power Down
When the key start switch is turned OFF after two minutes, the LCD screen backlight will turn off and the LCD screen will go blank. Pressing a button will turn off the LCD screen before the two minutes expire. Once the LCD screen has turned off, if battery power is still present and a button is pressed, the LCD screen will turn back ON. The LCD screen will show hours again for two minutes.Failure Modes
The following actions will occur for any failures:
For the Hydraulic Oil temperature circuit, if the value is not known, the gauge will be set to the maximum value.
For the Engine Coolant temperature circuit, if the value is not known, the gauge will be set to the maximum value.
For the Engine Speed circuit, if the actual engine rpm is not known, the gauge will be set to the minimum value.
For the Fuel Level circuit, if the value for fuel level is not known, the gauge will be set to the minimum value.
For the Power Train System Temp circuit, if the temperature value is not known, the gauge will be set to the maximum value.
