Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Some engines are equipped with twin turbochargers. The following story contains the installation procedure for single turbochargers. The same procedure is followed for twin turbochargers.Note: There are many possible configurations of the turbocharger and exhaust systems. The following procedure illustrates a typical example.

Install new gasket (8). Install turbocharger (6). Position the turbocharger so that the lines for the turbocharger are not in a bound position.
Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to mounting bolts (7). Install mounting bolts (7), nuts, and washers for the turbocharger. Tighten the bolts finger tight.

Typical example
Position oil drain line (5) for the turbocharger in the original location and install the O ring seal.
Install two bolts (4). Tighten the bolts finger tight.
Position oil supply line (2) in the original location and install the O-ring seal.
Install two bolts (3). Tighten the bolts finger tight.

Typical example
Connect oil supply line (2) for the turbocharger at the cylinder block. Tighten the connection to the standard torque.
Install bolt (1) and the washer. Tighten bolt (1) to the standard torque.
Tighten bolts (3) and (4) to the standard torque.
Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 55 5 N m (41 4 lb ft).
