1. Loosen filter case retaining bolt (1).2. Remove element (2) and case (3) from the filter base.3. Wash element (2) in clean nonflammable solvent and shake or blow it dry.4. Clean case (3) with a cloth or stiff fiber brush.5. Install element (2) and case (3) and tighten retaining bolt (1). Start engine and check for leaks.Final Filter
1. Remove the fuel filter element with a strap-type wrench and discard the used element.2. Clean the filter base gasket surface. Remove all of the old gasket. 3. Lubricate the new filter gasket with clean diesel fuel.
Do not fill the fuel filter with fuel before installing it. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.
4. Install the new filter element by hand until the filter gasket contacts the base.There are rotation marks 90° apart on the filter. Use these as a guide for proper tightening. Turn the filter 3/4 turn more with a filter wrench.
Do not overtighten the filter element.
5. Start the engine and check for leaks. If the engine will not start, prime the fuel system.Priming the Fuel System With Hand Priming Pump (If Equipped)
1. Move the governor lever to the SHUT-OFF position. 2. Unscrew the hand primary pump plunger until it can be pulled out by hand.3. Move the plunger in and out until a resistance is felt.4. Push the plunger in and tighten by hand.5. Start the engine and check for leaks.Priming the Fuel System Without Hand Priming Pump
If the engine does not start, air is trapped in the fuel lines to the engine. Use the following procedure to bleed lines.1. Loosen the fuel injection lines at the cylinder head of the engine. Use two wrenches to avoid breaking fuel lines.2. Move the governor control lever to the LOW IDLE position.3. Turn the power switch key to START. Crank the engine, until the fuel flows free of air bubbles, from all fuel lines.4. Stop the engine.5. Tighten the fuel line nuts to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb ft).Transmission
Change Filter
Hot oil and components can cause injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin.When using pressure air, wear a protective face shield and protective clothing. The maximum air pressure must be below 205 kPa (30 psi) for cleaning purposes.Use all cleaning solutions with care.
The machine must be level and the oil warm. Lower the bucket with slight down pressure.Apply the parking/secondary brake. Stop the engine. 1. Remove the cover on the left rear side of the operator's platform. 2. Use a strap-type wrench or a cross bar to remove the filter housing. 3. Remove and discard the used element.4. Clean the filter housing with a clean, nonflammable solvent. Clean the housing base.5. Insert a new element into the filter housing.6. Inspect the filter housing seal. Replace the seal, if it is damaged.7. Install the filter housing into the housing base.
