Information:
17. Using a section of pipe or wood blocks, position the drive shaft and piston assembly as shown.18. Position each piston (18) perpendicular to plate (17), and remove them by pulling straight out. Repeat for the seven pistons. The center pin cannot be removed at this time. 19. Check seven pistons (18) at area (X) from scratches and pitting. Replace the pistons if necessary.
Rings (19) may break apart during removal. Wear eye protection to prevent possible injury from flying parts.
20. Using a screw driver, remove rings (19). 21. Remove seven screws (21). The screws were installed with Thread Lock Compound, so they may be difficult to remove. Impact the screw heads first to break the seal and remove by using additional leverage on the screwdriver as shown.22. Remove plate (17), center pin (20) and the disc that holds the center pin in place. 23. Check center pin (20) from scratches or pitting at area (Y). Replace the center pin if necessary.Assemble Swing Motor
Check all components for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Apply 1U-6396 O-ring Compound to all O-ring seals prior to installation, if applicable. 1. Install the drive shaft on a section of pipe or wood blocks as show. Install center pin (20), disc (22) and plate (17) on drive shaft (23). 2. Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound on seven screws (21) and install them loosely to hold retaining plate (17) to the drive shaft. Position three pistons (18) to align plate (17). Tighten seven screws (21) to a torque of 21 6 N m (15 4 lb ft). Remove three pistons (18).
All rings (24) must be installed with the marks toward the flat end of the piston or the swing motor will not operate.
3. The rings are spherical and must be installed with marks (24) toward the flat end of piston (18). Use Tooling (A) to install upper ring (19).4. Using Tooling (A), install the lower ring with marks (24) toward the flat end of piston (18). Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for all seven pistons.5. Rotate the rings so the end gaps of the upper and lower rings are 180 degrees apart.
To determine the axil play between spacer (15) and the center pin, refer to the topic, "Swing Motor" in 5130B Excavator, Hydraulic System Specifications module, SENR1468.
6. The spacer that was selected should be used at this time. Install spacer (15) and six belleville springs (16) in the center pin bore of cylinder barrel (10). 7. Install seven pistons (18). 8. Lay the drive shaft horizontal. Lay the barrel with the pistons horizontal. Make sure the belleville springs stay in the proper position when the barrel is put in the horizontal position.9. Align center pin (20) with its bore in the barrel and assemble the unit. 10. Hold barrel (10) and drive shaft (14) together, positioned vertically on a section of pipe or with wood blocks. Push each piston in a drive shaft socket through the plate. An audible click is made
