MODELS INVOLVED - 120M, 12M, 140M, 160M, AND 14M MOTOR GRADERS
Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
New steering and transmission software needs to be installed and the steering hydraulic oil replaced on the machines listed below. Also, the brake valve needs to be inspected and possibly replaced.
The operator may experience the following machine performance characteristics:
- Steering warnings and/or sluggish steering response during roading operations.
- Shift delays when performing a directional shift from 5th gear, or above, while the inching pedal is depressed.
- Poor service brake valve modulation during cold weather operation due to an orifice in the current brake valve.
Sluggish steering response, poor brake modulation, or delayed directional shifts could impact machine control with the possibility of personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 31Jul2009 when scheduling this service.
