PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
Group 1:
Remove the transmission as per D&A removal instructions,
KENR6019. D&A transmission, inspecting for contingent damage and obstructions / restrictions in oil lube passages. Replace worn parts as per re-usability guidelines (refer to KENR6019 and SEBF8115).
During assembly process, replace the directional clutch shaft assembly (307-4611) and inspect directional clutch pistons (246-8749) for signs of wear if the part number identification on the clutch can is "307-4487-00" as indicated in image 1 pictured above. The directional clutch shaft assembly does not need to be replaced if the part number identification on the clutch can is "307-4487-01" or "307-4487-02". Replace transmission filter assembly bypass valve springs as per the Service Magazine Article in SEPD0996 "Enhancements to the Filtration System on the Drive Train Systems".
Inspect torsional coupler to flywheel mounting bolt holes for finish maximum diameter of 12mm. If holes are damaged or material around bolt hole has been displaced, replace torsional coupler.
If not replacing torsional coupling inspect all twelve spring packs in the torsional spring coupler for signs of wear. It is typical for the spring packs to be loose within their casings and is not cause for replacing the coupler. If torsional coupler springs are broken and/or worn, replace with new, reference "Specifications RENR8481 Torsional Coupling".
Replace torsional coupler mounting bolts with 165-3929 Bolts with Loctite 242 blue and 5J-4715 Washer and tighten bolts to 55 Nm in a star pattern. Reference Illustration 1.1.1 Tools
