Switch Off Keyboard
The option for switching off the keyboard is provided in order to restrict access to the settings for WAVS. However, even if the keyboard is switched off, the display will continue to be switched on by the camera inputs. However, any other operations or functions are disabled.Press and hold the camera select button (1) and the button for brightness (5) at the same time for 15 seconds in order to disable input from the keyboard.In order to enable the keyboard again, press and hold the camera select button (1) and the button for brightness (5) at the same time for 15 seconds.Single Camera Operation
Most applications of WAVS will use three cameras. If a single camera system is installed, the configuration for a single camera does not use the 251-4168 Switch (36) .In a single camera system, the camera is located in order to provide a rearward view. The screen for the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is normally off until the camera system is activated manually or the camera system is automatically awoke. The display remains off so that the screen will not cause a distraction. The customer has the option of choosing the type of input that will cause the camera system to awaken."Input 1" must be wired in order to provide an input voltage signal that is greater than 9 VDC when the reverse gear is selected. An example for the source of the input voltage that is necessary to activate the "Input 1" can be the backup alarm or backing lights.When the ignition key is turned ON, the display will power up in the default mode.The standby mode can be selected by pressing the standby on/off button (3) that is on the keypad for the display. Until "Input 1" reaches a voltage that is greater than 9 VDC, the display will go blank. When the input voltage goes below 9 VDC, the display will appear blank.In order to exit the standby mode, press the standby on/off button (3) again. The system will return to the default mode.Note: In installations of a single camera, the camera select button (1) is disabled. The operation of a single camera can be used even if a 251-4168 Switch (36) is installed.Operation of Multiple Cameras
In the multiple camera system, the default camera will usually be the camera that is positioned to a view toward the front area of the machine. The default camera has the lowest priority. " Camera 1" will be the camera that is used to view the front area of the machine.For some applications of this product, the use of the standby feature may be preferable. In order to activate the standby feature, press the standby on/off button (3) on the display. In order to exit the standby mode, press the standby on/off button (3) again.
