Install bolts (14) and the washers that secure the shaft assembly to the planetary carrier. Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 33 7 N m (24 5 lb ft). Turn bolts (14) by an additional 60 5 degrees after the bolts have been torqued. Repeat the procedure for the remaining gear assemblies.

Position the carrier on a suitable bench, as shown. Install wear ring (13) to the planetary carrier. Install bolts (12) that secure wear ring (13) to the planetary carrier. Apply Tooling (L) to the threads of bolts (12) before installation.

Attach Tooling (J) and a suitable lifting device to the planetary carrier. Install the planetary carrier to the wheel. The weight of the planetary carrier is approximately 350 kg (772 lb). Remove Tooling (J) and the suitable lifting device from the planetary carrier.

Install bearing (11) and thrust washers (10) to gear (9) .

Install gear (9) to the planetary carrier.

Install ring (8) to shaft (7) .

Attach Tooling (K) and a suitable lifting device to shaft (7) . Install shaft (7) to the planetary carrier. Remove Tooling (K) and the suitable lifting device from shaft (7) .

The bolts should not be reused after the bolts have been tightened to the recommended torque and then turned by an additional amount.
Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to the planetary carrier. Install the planetary carrier and the O-ring seal to the wheel. The weight of the planetary carrier is approximately 1124 kg (2478 lb). Remove Tooling (C) and the suitable lifting device from the planetary carrier.
Install new bolts (6) and the washers that secure the planetary carrier to the wheel. Tighten seven bolts (6) that are evenly spaced in the planetary carrier to a torque of 900 N m (664 lb ft). Tighten bolts (6) in an alternating sequence to a torque of 900 150 N m (664 110 lb ft). Turn the bolts by an additional 120 5 degrees after the bolts have been torqued. Recheck the torque on bolts (6) . The minimum torque that is required for bolts (6) is 2000 N m (1475 lb ft).

Attach a suitable lifting device to the final drive. Place the final drive in a downward position.
Install hydraulic fitting (5) to the housing.

Install hydraulic fitting (4) and the O-ring seal to the spindle.

Install tube assembly (3) to the housing. Install the remaining new bolts (1) that secure bracket (2) to the spindle. Tighten (1) bolts to a torque of 460 70 N m (339 52 lb ft). Turn the bolts by an additional 120 5 degrees after the bolts have been torqued.End By: Install the final drive, the brake, and the wheel.
