Remove the tire and rim.
Remove the axle shaft.

Remove bolts (1). Disconnect hose assemblies (2).
Position Tooling (D) below the final drive and differential split. Use Tooling (D) to collect the residual oil.

Remove bolts (3). Disconnect tube assemblies (4).

Attach Tooling (A) to a suitable lift truck. Secure final drive, brake, and wheel assembly (5) onto Tooling (A).

Use Tooling (B) to remove bolts (6). Remove four bolts (6). Install Tooling (C), in the locations shown. Remove remaining bolts (6).
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lift truck to remove final drive, brake, and wheel assembly (5) from the rear axle housing. The weight of final drive, brake, and wheel assembly (5) is approximately 13579 kg (29937 lb).

Remove bolts (7) and tank assembly (8) from the rear axle housing.

Remove bolts (11), the washers, magnets (9), and covers (10) from rear axle housing (12).Installation Procedure
Install final drive, brake, and wheel assembly (5) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 40 10 N m (30 7 lb ft).
Install new bolts (6).
Use Tooling (B) to tighten bolts (6) in a circular pattern to a torque of 1200 100 N m (885 74 lb ft). Ensure each of bolt (6) has been tightened to a torque of 1200 100 N m (885 74 lb ft). Tighten bolts (6) an additional 90° 5°.
Remove the air from the brakes. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Brake System Air - Purge.".
