Signal Resolver NetworkThe control valve for the ripper tip is activated. (1) Float Boost Signal (2) Passage from Ripper Tip Control Valve (3) Passage from Ripper Lift Control Valve (4) Passage from Blade Tilt Control Valve (5) Passage from Blade Lift Control Valve (6) Signal to Pump Compensator ValveThe resolver network uses shuttle valves, which are double check valves. Each control valve contains a shuttle valve. The shuttle valve compares two pressures. The lower pressure of the two pressures is blocked. The higher pressure goes to the next component in the resolver network.The resolver network can be easily tested. Start the engine and warm up the oil. Operate the engine at HIGH IDLE. Operate each control lever in the following order:
Ripper Tip
Ripper Lift
Blade Tilt
Blade LiftIf one or more valve sections do not operate correctly, check the shuttle valve in the valve section closest to the pump.When any shuttle valve is suspect, do the following test. Stall any control valve that is closer to the pump supply. The shuttle valve should supply pump stall pressure to the entire system. For example, if you are testing the shuttle valve in the ripper lift control valve, stall either the blade tilt control valve or the blade lift control valve. Note: If your machine is equipped with bypass valves in the lift and tilt cylinders, you will need to plug the hydraulic lines with block plates in order to achieve pump stall pressure.Try to use the malfunctioning valve. If the malfunctioning valve works properly, the shuttle valve has failed. If the valve does not work properly, the problem is not a problem in the resolver network.If a shuttle valve has failed, remove the shuttle valve. Check the seals and inspect the shuttle valve. Clean the shuttle valve or replace the shuttle valve. Refer to Illustration 2 for the location of the resolver (7) in the control valve (8).
