This diagnostic code is associated with the Lamp (Brake). TheFMI 05 means that the ECM has determined that the current of the indicator lamp is below normal.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The energize circuit of the indicator lamp is open.
The return circuit of the indicator lamp is open.
The indicator lamp has failed.
The ECM has failed. The ECM is unlikely to fail.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 682 FMI 05 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:When this diagnostic code occurs, a warning (Category 1) is shown on the monitor. The diagnostic code will cause the indicator lamp to be de-energized at all times.Test Step 1. Check The Indicator Lamp.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Disconnect the indicator lamp with the active diagnostic code from the machine harness.
At the machine harness connector for the indicator lamp, measure the voltage from contact 4 (wire 604-OR(Orange))
