Procedure for Removing/Replacing 2309071/2309072Handle from 2086090/2086091 Joystick Base Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3
Remove panel from around joystick. See Figure1.
Remove joystick assembly by disconnecting fromharness and removing four bolts holding the joystick in place.
Remove the DT connector from joystick harnessby first removing the wedge from inside the connector that is retainingthe pins. Next, remove all 11 pins from the connector. You should not haveto cut any wires. Keep the DT receptacle and wedge so that you may useit when you reassemble the new handle.
There is a wire clamp attached to the bottom ofthe joystick base that is used to retain the handle?s wires. Use a Phillipsscrewdriver to remove the screw and then slide the harness out of the clamp.Keep the clamp and screw so that you may reuse it with the new handle.
Remove Handle from Joystick Base. There are two¼" setscrews that retain the handle onto the shaft of the joystick.They are located on the bottom portion of the handle on the front and leftside. Use an Allen wrench to remove both of these setscrews. Keep thesesetscrews to use on the replacement handle. Now your handle can be liftedfrom the joystick. See Figure 2.
Replace Handle onto Joystick Base. Carefully feedwires and sleeving through joystick shaft from the top. Slide handle overshaft. Reference Figure 2 for proper rotational alignment of the handle,as there is no alignment feature in the handle design. Replace the setscrewsinto the handle with a torque of 9 +/- 1 Nm and with 9S3263 Thread Lock.It is important to note that the thread lock sealant should only be usedon the setscrews and not on any other fastener within the joystick or handleassembly.
Insert wires (with sleeving) through the retainingwire clamp used in step 4. Form a loop with the wiring harness and attachthe clamp to the bottom of the joystick base. See Figure 3. The screw forthe clamp should be tightened to 2.5 +/- 0.4 Nm (Note H).
Replace DT Receptacle. Reinsert all 11 pins intothe DT connector used in step 1.

Pin 11 Yellow You should hear a click when the wireis inserted. Tug gently on the wire to ensure it is inserted fully. Replacethe wedge fully into the center of the DT connector.
