Information:
Marine Transmissions
Lubrication oil for the marine transmission can be cooled by an optional transmission oil cooler that is engine mounted for certain engine ratings. Several manufacturers of marine gears offer marine transmissions through local distributors. Engine Service Life
Engine efficiency and engine performance depend on adherence to proper operation and maintenance recommendations. Use the recommended fuel, lubrication oil, and coolant. Special attention should be given to the air cleaner, to the fuel system, to the lubrication system, and to the cooling system maintenance. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Maintenance Interval Schedule" for more information on maintenance items. The expected life of an engine is generally predicted by the average power that is demanded. This average is based on the engine's fuel consumption over a period of time. A lower power demand will result from any combination of the following situations:
Any reduction in the hours of operation at full throttle
Any operating at reduced throttle settingsReduced hours of operation will increase the length of operating time before an engine overhaul is required. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Overhaul Considerations" for more information.Engine Specifications
Note: The front end of the engine is opposite the flywheel end of the engine. The left and the right side of the engine are determined from the flywheel end.
