Crankcase pressure that is more than the default crankcase pressure of 6 kPa (24 inches of H2O) for ten secondsSystem Response:The event is logged. The ECM limits the fuel above the default crankcase pressure of 6 kPa (24 inches of H2O). The ECM derates the engine from 0% to a maximum derate of 15% over a period of 480 seconds when the crankcase pressure is above 6 kPa (24 inches of H2O).
Low power
There may be a problem with the cooling system.
There may be a problem with the crankcase pressure sensor.Test Step 1. Check for "ACTIVE" Diagnostic Codes.
Start the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).
Turn the main power to the ON position.
Check for any active diagnostic codes or logged diagnostic codes.Expected Result:No diagnostic codes are present.Results:
OK - No diagnostic codes are present. The engine is still derated.Repair: There may be a mechanical problem. Check the engine for problems.STOP
Not OK - Diagnostic codes are present.Repair: Repair the diagnostic codes that are present. Refer to the appropriate topic in the "Troubleshooting With a Diagnostic Code" section of this manual. Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem.STOP
