VALVE GP-SOLENOID 4343993 - Caterpillar

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Open the engine enclosure.
Recover the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.
Tilt the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cab - Tilt".

Close valves (1) .

Disconnect hose assemblies (2) .
Loosen the hose clamps and remove hoses (3) .
Remove clamps (4) that fasten hose assemblies (2) and hoses (3) to the bottom of the cab.

Disconnect hose assemblies (5) from metering pump (6) .

Remove the cotter pin and pin (8). Loosen nut (9) and remove cable assembly (7) from the propel pump.

Disconnect harness assemblies (10) .

Remove pin (12 ) from both sides of the cab.

Rotate the valve on cab tilt pump (13) to the LOWER position.
Insert the pump handle into cab tilt pump (13). Move the handle upward and move the handle downward in order to lower the cab.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cab (14), as shown.

Remove pin (15) from both sides of the cab.

Remove bolt (16) that fastens cab tilt cylinder (17) to the bottom of the cab.
Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove cab (14) from the machine. The weight of the cab is approximately 850 kg (1874 lb).
