Information:

START BY:a) remove wheel 1. Drain the oil from the differential case.2. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to the fender as shown. Remove the bolts that hold the fender in place. Remove fender (1). The weight of the fender is approximately 72 kg (158 lb.). 3. Fasten tooling (B) and a hoist to the shield. Remove the bolts that hold the shield in place. Remove shield (2). The weight of the shield is approximately 41 kg (90 lb.). 4. Remove bearing cone (6), Duo-Cone seal (4) and retainer (3). Remove pin (5) that holds the slack adjuster in position in the yoke on the brake actuator. 5. Put a pry bar between camshaft (9) and roller (8). Use the pry bar to lift the brake shoe enough so that a block (7) can be installed between the brake shoe and the axle housing. Put a pry bar between camshaft (9) and roller (10). Use the pry bar to lower the brake shoe enough so that block (11) can be installed between the brake shoe and the axle housing. Step 4 is necessary so that the slack adjuster can be moved away from the yoke or the brake actuator. 6. Fasten tooling (C) and a hoist to the axle housing as shown. Remove nuts (12) and axle housing (13). The weight of the axle housing is approximately 510 kg (1125 lb.).Install Axle Housing
1. Put 2P2506 Anti-Seize Compound on the washer faces and on the threads of the studs. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position on the axle housing. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to the axle housing. Install axle housing (1). The weight of the axle housing is approximately 510 kg (1125 lb.).2. Tighten the nuts that hold the axle housing in place to a torque of 710 25 N m (523 18 lb.ft.).3. Use a pry bar between the camshaft and the rollers on the brake shoes to move the brake shoes enough to remove blocks (2). 4. Put slack adjuster (4) in position in yoke (3). Install pin (5) and the cotter pin. 5. Install bearing cone (6).6. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position on retainer (7). Install retainer (7) on the axle housing. Make sure the flat side of the retainer is toward the inside of the machine. Rubber toric rings and all the surfaces that make contact with them must be clean and dry. Put a small amount of oil on the contact surface of the metal seal.7. Use tool (B) to install the Duo-Cone seals. See Duo-Cone Floating Seals. 8. Use tooling (C) and a hoist to install shield (8). The weight of the shield is approximately 41 kg (90 lb.). 9. Use tooling (D) and a hoist to install fender (9). The weight of the fender is approximately 72 kg (158 lb.).10.
