Removal Procedure
Start By:
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Disconnect harness assembly (1). Disconnect hydraulic hose assemblies (2), (4), (5), and (6). Remove bolts (3). Remove control manifold (7).

Remove nuts (11) and washers (10). Remove coil assembly (9). Remove cartridge assembly (8) from control manifold (7). Installation Procedure

Install cartridge assembly (8) in manifold (7). Tighten cartridge assembly (8) to a torque of 40 5 N m (29.5 3.7 lb ft). Install coil assembly (9). Install washers (10) and nuts (11). Tighten nuts (11) to a torque of 13 1.5 N m (115.1 13.3 lb in).

Position control manifold (7). Install bolts (3). Connect harness assembly (1). Connect hydraulic hose assemblies (2), (4), (5), and (6).
Fill the hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
Start the engine. Purge all the air from the hydraulic system. Check the fluid level of the hydraulic tank.
