Manufacturing processes have improved for remanufactured fuel injectors that are used in certain commercial engines. This helps to ensure that remanufactured fuel injectors operate within the proper specifications, and have the correct spray pattern. The following manufacturing processes have been implemented in order to ensure proper operation of injectors:
Improved machine fixturing
Improved orifice diameter gauging
More frequent setup cleaning and validation prior to machining
Reintroduction of the edge filterNote: Injectors without an edge filter are still acceptable for use. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6250, "Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations"Note: Contamination control practices must be used for maximum service life of remanufactured fuel injectors.
