Position panel (2) in order to access the underside of the fan motor.
Remove the screw, and disconnect fan motor ground (wire BK) (6). Install the screw.
Cut the three cable ties securing 227-5189 Harness As (5) to the fan motor.
Disconnect 227-5189 Harness As (5) from the thermostat, the fan switch, and the relay.Note: Make a note of all connections for installation purposes.
Discard 227-5189 Harness As (5) .
Remove and discard the terminal from fan motor ground (wire BK) (6) .
Install the 8T-8730 Connector Socket to fan motor ground (wire BK) (6). Crimp the 8T-8730 Connector Socket using Tooling (A) .

Connect 361-8520 Harness As (7) to the thermostat and the fan switch.
Remove splice receptacle (8). Retain for installation purposes.
Remove the lock wedge and the blanking pin from plug (9). Retain the lock wedge for installation purposes. Discard the blanking pin.
Insert fan motor ground (wire BK) (6) into plug (9). Refer to Illustration 5 for the correct location.
Install the lock wedge retained in Step 20 into plug (9) .
Install splice receptacle (8) retained in Step 19.
Secure harness assembly (7) with three 3S-2093 Cable Straps .

Remove the two bolts and rear cab pillar panel (12). Retain for installation purposes.
Remove the bolt and rear dash cover (13). Retain for installation purposes.
Remove the four bolts and overhead console mount (11). Retain for installation purposes.Note: In order to gain access to the ground connection, complete removal of overhead console mount (11) may not be necessary. See Figure 8 for the location of the ground connection.

Remove and discard five cable ties (15) and 250-8638 Harness As (14) .

Install 361-8587 Harness As (16) and secure with five 163-5808 Cable Ties (17) .
Remove bolt (19). Install (wire 200-BK) (18) of 361-8587 Harness As (16) and bolt (19) .

Install overhead console mount (11) and the four bolts retained in Step 27.
Install rear cab pillar panel (12) and the two bolts retained in Step 25.
Install rear dash cover (13) and the bolt retained in Step 26.

Typical example
Connect 361-8520 Harness As (7) to the relay and route through the grommet in the air conditioner.
Install panel (2), and four bolts (3) retained in Step 9.
Install the receptacle and the lock wedge retained in Step 8 to 361-8520 Harness As (7) .
Connect 361-8520 Harness As (7) to 361-8587 Harness As (16) .
Install cover (1) and the bolt retained in Step 6.
