Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Put Tooling (A) on the studs for the manifold. Install the gaskets between the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head assembly. Install exhaust manifold (10) . Ensure that the gaskets are in position between the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head assembly.

Install spacers (17) , the washers and nuts (16) that hold the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head assembly. Tighten nuts (16) in the numerical sequence to a torque of 38 5 N m (28 4 lb ft). See the above illustration for the torque sequence.

Install bolts (11) , the nuts, and the washers .
Position two elbows (14) and adapter (15) . Install bolts (12) and (13) , the nuts, and the washers .

Install elbow (9) on exhaust manifold (10) with bolts (7) and (8) .

Install sensor (2) into the block.
Put detonation module (1) in the original location. Install bolts (13) and the washers.
Install fumes disposal tube (6) .
Install spacer (4) , bolt (5) , the nut, and the washer .
Fill the engine with the correct amount of coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual.End By: Install oil filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oil Filter Base - Remove and Install".
