Introduction
This special instruction provides the necessary software and procedure to reflash .FL2 and .FL3 file format software by USB reflash.The latest ECM software, and monitoring software for Hydraulic Excavators are distributed as .fl2 file format. Certain monitoring software cannot recognize .FL2 or .FL3 format software, and cannot reflash the .FL2 and .FL3 software with the USB function.Reference Special Instruction, REHS7542, "Procedure For Flashing Monitor Software and For Flashing ECMs on 300E Excavators", "Monitor Flash Procedure by USB Flash Function".Safety

Note: If the current software installed on the monitor is listed as a former part number not supporting FL2/FL3 in Table 1, follow the following procedure to flash the new service software part number.
Download the latest service software and the latest monitoring software from SIS Web. Note: Go to SIS Web to make sure that the new flash file part number is still the latest flash file part number. A newer flash file part number may be available.

Copy the service software and monitoring software to the root directory of USB memory.Note: This procedure requires USB 1.1 support.Note: The memory must have no security functions enabled because the monitor cannot access encrypted USB memory.Note: The recommended USB device should be less than 65 mm (2.6 inch) in length to prevent interference between the USB storage device and the cab.
If using a PC to flash, change the power management setting of the PC to avoid the PC entering stand-by mode or activating the screen saver while flashing is in progress.
Flash the service software to the monitor. Refer to the procedure in the special instruction listed above.Note: The monitor should now recognize and flash .FL2 and .FL3 file format software.
Flash the latest monitoring software to the monitor. Refer to the procedure in the special instruction listed above.
Use the USB Flash function to flash other ECM software if needed.
