Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until the permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
There are failures in the field for 248-1348 Control Valve Gp . The failures are associated with slow hydraulics or low hydraulic power.Solution
The root causes have not been related to the design or quality of the component. Probable root causes:
Temporary contamination
No oil additive
Misadjustment and/or adjustment of the valve without properly releasing the set screw

Location of set screws (1) Set screwsBefore removing the pump control valve, add one unit of 1U-9891 Hydraulic Oil Additive to the hydraulic system. Cycle the machine implements several times and confirm that the hydraulic pressures for the machine and implement cycle times are within the proper specification. Be sure to note any differences between the proper specifications and the actual specifications. Reference the Specifications, RENR6478, Systems Operation, RENR6479 and Testing and Adjusting, RENR6479 manuals for your machine for more information. Perform the proper adjustment procedure for the pump. Check the pump in order to make sure that the pump is within the proper specifications. If the pump is not within the proper specification then you will need to remove the pump control valve. Disassemble the pump control valve. Check the pump control valve for contamination, stuck spools and/or guides and damaged bores. If no damage is found, thoroughly clean all components and rebuild the valve. Use a new 307-3043 Seal Kit when you rebuild the valve. Reinstall the valve onto the hydraulic pump. Once the valve is reinstalled follow the procedure to set the proper specifications for the pump. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, RENR6479 for your machine for the proper test procedures. Check the pump in order to make sure that the pump is within the proper specifications. If the pump is not within the proper specification then you will need to replace the control valve.
