During assembly, the rear face of the front housing and the front face of the cylinder block must be free from oil, fuel, water, dirt, assembly compound, and any other contaminants.
1 1 214-1727 Gasket After assembly, trim the cylinder block gasket with face (2) of the housing.
3 - - Apply a continuous bead of ultrablack Loctite 598 immediately prior to assembling the front housing assembly. After assembly of the front housing assembly, remove excess sealant from the flange with a straight edge.
4 - - Apply ultrablack Loctite 598 to the T-shaped joints immediately prior to the installation of the gasket for the pan. The application of the sealant should cover the entire width of the T-shaped joints.
