The list of categories is shown in the left pane of the Cat ET dialog. The EMCP 4.3 and EMCP 4.4 have different numbers of set points.The categories shown in Cat ET are version 2010C. Older versions of Cat ET may show fewer categories. Newer versions of Cat ET may show more categories. Version 2010C is required to communicate with the EMCP 4. If an earlier version is used, the EMCP 4 will be grayed out.Note: Any set point with a value given as "Unavailable", is not applicable to that version of EMCP 4.Cat ET can be used to view status data, monitor optional modules, view events, reset events, and configure set points.Note: Cat ET possesses other features that are not within the scope of this publication.Perform the following steps in order to use Cat ET.
Connect Cat ET to the PC. Configure the port settings as appropriate.
Ensure that Cat ET is connected to the primary datalink (CAN 1).
Click the "ET" icon to start Cat ET software.

The software will search the data links. A Cat ET dialog will appear.

Once the software finds the EMCP, the PC will connect to the EMCP. An ECM summary screen will appear. Refer to Illustration 13.

Click the configuration button (7) to view the parameters within the EMCP 4 that can be configured. The parameter groups will appear.

Select a group from the left side of the dialog.
