In LOW speed at a high torque and a large displacement, the propel motor has a higher displacement. At this setting, maximum flow limiter (8) limits the maximum amount of displacement of the motor. In HIGH speed at a low torque and a small displacement, the propel motor has a lower displacement. At this setting, minimum flow limiter (2) sets the minimum amount of displacement of the motor. When the machine is shifted from the LOW position to the HIGH position, the motor displacement and torque are decreased and the rotating speed is increased. The propel motor can operate in either direction.Two high pressure loop lines and one case drain line from the propel pump are connected to the propel motor.The direction of motor rotation is controlled by the oil flow direction from the propel pump. The speed of motor rotation is controlled by the amount of oil flow from the propel pump and the displacement of motor.The components of the propel motor that rotate are synchronizing shaft (3), drive shaft (4), bearing plate (11), cylinder block (12) and pistons (13). The components that control the oil flow through the motor are the displacement control valve (1), the shuttle spool (5), the four-way valve with the control springs (6), the shuttle valve (7), the charge relief valve (9) and the valve segment (10).
