Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.
Injury to personnel can result if they are not in the operator's view. Allow only essential personnel near the machine, and make sure the personnel are in the operator's view when testing, to prevent injury. Make sure checks are done in an open area.
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.
Lower the screed to the ground. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.
Lower the tow point completely. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.
Stop the engine. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the tractor for this procedure.

Remove cotter pin (1) and remove clevis pin (2) from the tow point cylinder. Repeat for the tow point cylinder on the other side of the machine.

Adjust height of the extenders until extender screed plate (3) just touches the ground. Refer to Systems Operation Testing and Adjusting, "Extender - Check and Adjust" in this publication.

Adjust the height of end gates (4) until the end gate just touches the ground.

Measure from the ground to center of hole (5) on the right side of the machine. Do this step on the left side also. The distance on both sides of the machine should be 275 mm (10.8 inch).
If the distance measured in Step 8 is correct, go to Step 16. If the distance measured in Step 8 is not correct, go to Step 10.

Loosen bolt (6) on the side of the screed that needs to be adjusted. Do not remove the bolt.
Loosen two lock nuts (7). Rotate adjustment turnbuckle (8) until the distance measured in Step 8 is correct.
Check each side of the screed after making the adjustment in the previous step. Repeat step Step 11 as needed.
Tighten two lock nuts (7) .
Tighten bolt (6) .
Loosen two bolts (9) and position pointer (10) at the "0" position on scale (11). Tighten the two bolts.
Install pin (2) and replace cotter pin (1) on both sides of the machine.Note: The tow point cylinder may need to be slightly adjusted in order to connect the tow arm.
