Connect the electronic service tool to the diagnostic connector. If the ECM does not communicate with the electronic service tool, refer to Troubleshooting, "Electronic Service Tool Does Not Communicate".
Ensure that the following items are correctly installed and undamaged. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Electrical Connectors - Inspect".
P1 and P2 connectors on the ECM
Wiring to display modules
Wiring to other control modules
Troubleshoot the data link for possible faults. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Data Link Circuit - Test".
Verify that the CAN data link does not have an open or short circuit. Refer to Troubleshooting, "CAN Data Link Circuit - Test".
