Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
The engine can have the ability to auto start. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.

Slide locking tab (1) into the unlocked position.
Disconnect harness assembly (2) from position sensor (3).
Remove bolt (4).
Carefully remove position sensor (3) from the cylinder block. Note: Do not use a lever to remove the position sensor from the cylinder block.
Remove O-ring seal (5) from position sensor (3). Installation Procedure

Lubricate a new O-ring seal (5) with clean engine oil. Install the new O-ring seal to the first groove on position sensor (3).
Align the hole in position sensor (3) with the hole in the cylinder block. Install the position sensor to the cylinder block. Note: Do not use bolt (4) to pull the position sensor into position against the cylinder block.
Install bolt (4). Tighten the bolt to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
Connect harness assembly (2) to position sensor (3).
Slide locking tab (1) into the locked position.
