Note: This procedure is only for operator errors originating from the Propel Electronic Control System. The operator error codes are viewed on the ECM three digit display. Refer to the procedure that corresponds to the operator error code that is being shown on the ECM display. P01 Error Code - Speed Lever Out of Neutral While Parking Brake is On.This operator error is recorded when the speed lever is in the FORWARD position or in the REVERSE position when the parking brake is ON.The possible causes of this error code are:
The speed lever is in FORWARD or REVERSE when the machine is started.
The speed lever is in FORWARD or REVERSE while the parking brake switch is pressed.
There are diagnostic codes for the speed lever or there are diagnostic codes for the parking brake switch.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.System Response:The results of this error are:
The propel diagnostic code lamp will be ON.
The machine will not move.Note: Ensure that P01 error code is active and that the propel diagnostic code lamp is ON.Test Step 1. Check Operator Settings
Turn the key start switch ON.
Put the lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Make sure the parking brake switch is off (not depressed).
Put the lever in the FORWARD position. Expected Result:The P01 error has cleared.Results:
OK - The P01 operator error has cleared.STOP
NOT OK - The P01 error is still present. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. Check For ECM Service Codes - Parking Brake Switch.
Access service mode 1 on the ECM. Refer to the "Accessing Diagnostic Information" module in this manual.
Check to see if a CID 025 parking brake switch diagnostic code is active. Expected Result:A CID 025 parking brake switch diagnostic code is active.Results:
OK - A CID 025 diagnostic code for the parking brake switch is active.Repair: Perform the troubleshooting procedure that is listed for the active diagnostic code in the troubleshooting section of this manual.STOP
NOT OK - A CID 025 diagnostic code for the parking brake switch is not active. Proceed to Test Step 3.Test Step 3. Check For ECM Diagnostic Codes - Speed Lever.
Access service mode 1 on the ECM. Refer to the "Accessing Diagnostic Information" module in this manual.
Check to see if a CID 013 speed lever diagnostic code is active. Expected Result:A CID 013 speed lever diagnostic code is active.Results:
OK - A CID 013 speed lever diagnostic code is active.Repair: Perform the troubleshooting procedure that is listed for the active diagnostic code in the troubleshooting section of this manual.STOP
NOT OK - A CID 013 speed lever diagnostic code is not active.Repair: It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. Refer to the Electrical System Schematic for this machine and check all involved wiring harness connectors and wiring. Ensure that the connector contacts are clean and in good condition. Ensure that all machine harness wiring is intact and in good condition. If the cause of this error code is not found, replace the ECM. See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control
