Removal Procedure
Personal injury can result from failure to disconnect the battery.First, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the positive battery cable.A positive power lead can cause sparks if the battery is not disconnected. Sparks can possibly result in battery explosion or fire.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove four bolts (1) and remove guard (2).Note: Inspect belt for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.

Remove tension from belt and remove alternator belt (3).

Disconnect harness (5) and harness (7).
Remove four bolts (4) and remove alternator (6).Installation Procedure
Install the alternator (6) in reverse order of removal.
Tighten harnesses (5) and (7) to a torque of 7 0.8 N m (62 7.1 lb in).
Adjust belt tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Alternator Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for the correct adjusting procedure.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
