pin to 10 +/- 2 Nm. b. Gently rotate the governor terminal shaft towards maximum fuel position until surface (A) of the lever makes contact with the synchronization pin (2). Insure the Electronic Position Indicator still reads 0.00 mm at this point (or +5.00 mm if the dial indicator is used). If this is not the indicated reading, repeat steps one through six of this section. If the indicated reading is 0.00 mm, continue with the procedure. (If the dial indicator is used, adjust the dial indicator to read 0.00 mm before continuing.) c. Remove synchronization pin (2) from hole (Z) in control housing. d. Install locknut (17) on setscrew (18). Install setscrew (18) in hole (W) in the fuel control housing. e. Adjust setscrew (18) until the Electronic Position Indicator (or dial indicator) reads the new fuel setting as determined in Part 2. The indicator will read in the positive direction for the desired fuel setting. f. Tighten the locknut on the setscrew and remove the deadweight from the governor terminal shaft. 8. Put gasket (19) and cover (25) in position on the fuel control housing and install the bolt that hold them in place. Lock wire with a Caterpillar seal through the bolt (26) head and hole in the cover (25). This will prevent tampering with engine settings. Install the synchronization pin (2) in the storage location with spacer (3) as shown in Illustration 2. 9. Install the plugs (21) and washers (22) in holes (Y) and (Z). 10. Put gasket (27) and cover (28) in place onto the fuel control housing and secure with bolts. 11. Put gasket (29) and cover (30) in place on the fuel control housing and secure with bolts. 12. Before starting the engine, put a mark on the governor position indicator at the point of minimum governor travel. This is the engine stopped position. !! The engine may overspeed due to improper assembly or adjustment, which could result in personal injury, loss of life and/or property damage. Be prepared to stop the engine by activating the emergency air shutoff or closing
