Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".

Remove tube assembly (1) .

Disconnect wire assemblies (2) , (3) , and (5) .
Disconnect tube assembly (4) .
Use Tooling (A) to support engine oil pan (7) . The weight of engine oil pan (7) is approximately 105 kg (235 lb).
Remove bolts (6) .
Remove engine oil pan (7) and the gasket.

Remove sensors (8) , (9) , and (10) .Installation Procedure
Note: Apply Tooling (A) on the four socket joints of the oil pan gasket.
Install engine oil pan (7) in reverse order of removal.Note: If the oil drain plug was removed, install the oil drain plug. Tighten the oil drain plug to a torque of 70 10 N m (52 7 lb ft).

Tightening Sequence
The directional arrow is towards the front housing of the engine.
Tighten bolts (6) in sequence to a torque of 47 9 N m (35 7 lb ft).
Repeat Step 2.a
