23 is used in order to change the status of the optional secondary steering attachment in the power train ECM. The procedure to enable the optional secondary steering attachment follows:
Use the 4C-8195 Control Service Tool to enter Transmission Calibration Mode (6) by holding the "MODE" switch until "-6-" is displayed. Then enter submode 23 by pressing the "SCROLL" switch until "23" is displayed.
Use the "(+)" INCREMENT position of the "CLEAR" switch in order to change the selection. Press and release the switch in order to select SS0 or SS1. SS0 disables the optional secondary steering attachment in the power train ECM. SS1 enables the optional secondary steering attachment in the power train ECM. The optional secondary steering attachment requires external hardware. If the external hardware is enabled but the external hardware does not exist, fault codes may be logged.
To exit submode 23, scroll to the next submode by using the "SCROLL" switch or exit the Transmission Calibration Mode by using the "MODE" switch.
