Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Handle the heat shields carefully. Do not tear the stainless steel foil inside the heat shields. Torn foil will let the insulation absorb flammable liquids and a fire can result from engine heat.
Note: In order to remove the blankets, cut the stainless steel wire that secures the blankets.

Remove front end cap (1) from the blanket for front manifold (2).

Remove the bolts that secure the blanket for front manifold (2) to the front exhaust manifold section. Remove the blanket for front manifold (2) from the front exhaust manifold section.
