Ensure that the area around the DEF tank adaptor is clean and free from debris.

Remove two screws (1) from existing DEF tank adaptor (2). Retain the two screws.
Remove existing DEF tank adaptor (2) from DEF tank (3).

Obtain new DEF tank adaptor. Ensure that O-ring seal (4) is present in the new DEF tank adaptor.

Install new DEF tank adaptor (5) to DEF tank (3). Tighten the DEF tank adaptor hand tight.

Fabricate a suitable tool to achieve the tightening torque required to torque the new DEF tank adaptor to the DEF tank. Refer to illustration 5 for more information.
Tighten the DEF tank adaptor (5) to a torque of 35 N m (26 lb ft).
Install two screws (1) into DEF tank adaptor (5). Tighten the self-tapping screws (1) securely.Note: When the screws are tightened, ensure that the screws are parallel with the wall of the DEF tank adaptor.
