Alarm tank (A) Fuel inlet. (B) Fuel outlet vent.The alarm tank should be mounting off the engine. The alarm tank should be positioned below the drain manifold assemblies. Any fuel that leaks will then flow from the manifold assemblies to the alarm tank. The tank assembly must be mounted with the float switch stem in a vertical position plus or minus ten degrees.Manifold Drain Tube

Manifold drain tube (1) Adapter. ( 2) Manifold. (3) 169-0120 Tube .The 169-0120 Tube (3) is 800 mm (31 inch) long. This tube connects to the adapter (1) on the front of the manifold (2). The left side fuel lines for cylinders 7, 3, 11 connect to the manifold (2). The tube (3) is a straight tube. The tube must be bent in order to connect to the adapter that is located on the fuel inlet hose of the alarm tank. A standard pipe bending tool can be used to shape the tube in order to make the connection.Fuel Inlet and Fuel Outlet Vent
The fuel inlet to the tank is a flexible rubber hose with an 8 mm (0.32 inch) diameter stand pipe. The orientation of the hose can be adjusted by rotating the tee connector at the bottom of the tank assembly. The outlet vent of the tank is also an 8 mm (0.32 inch) diameter tube. The outlet vent must be vented into the atmosphere. This will avoid back pressure in the system.Electrical Connections

Electrical connectorThe electrical connections for the tank are located in the upper section of the tank under the top end cap. The entry of the cable is through the cable gland. Refer to table 5 for the specifications of the float switch.

The alarm switch can be readily changed from "normally closed" to "normally open" in order to satisfy wiring preferences. The float body can be inverted to change the switch to a "normally open" mode by using the following method:
Remove the lower end cap of the tank.
Remove the "E" clip on the stem of the float switch.
Slide the float off the stem of the switch.
Invert the float.
Slide the float onto the stem of the switch.
Install the "E" clip onto the stem of the float switch.
