VALVE GP-BYPASS 9T5774 - Caterpillar

1. Install tooling (A) and a hoist on the fender. Remove bolts that fasten the fender to the rear of the cab and the vehicle frame. Remove fender (1). The weight of fender is 57 kg (125 lb.). 2. Remove eight clamps (3) that fasten the hydraulic tube assemblies together. Remove clamp on the back of bracket assembly (2). 3. Use tooling (B) to lift machine and install metal blocks (4) between the axle and the frame. Lower machine on the blocks. 4. Remove upper (5) and lower (6) hydraulic hose assemblies from the axle suspension cylinders. The hoses are removed for better bracket assembly removal. 5. Remove four bolts (7) that fasten bracket assembly (2) to frame. 6. Install nylon straps and hoist on the bracket assembly. Remove bar (8) and pin assembly (9). 7. Lift bracket assembly and remove rings (10) from each side of the cylinder bearing. Remove bracket assembly (2). Weight of bracket assembly is 52 kg (115 lb.). 8. Install hoist on the head end of the axle suspension cylinder (11). 9. Remove bar (13) and head plate (12) from pin. 10. Install head plate (12) on the wheel side of the pin. Use a pry bar to remove pin (14) from its bore.11. Remove axle suspension cylinder (11). Weight of cylinder is 68 kg (150 lb.).Install Axle Suspension Cylinders
1. Install a hoist on the axle suspension cylinder (1) and lower it in position. 2. Put rings (2) in position on each side of the cylinder rod. 3. Install pin (3) in the rod end of cylinder. Remove three bolts and head plate (4). 4. Install head plate (5) on pin. Install bar (6) to hold pin in place. 5. Install a hoist on bracket assembly (7) and lower it in position on the head end of the axle suspension cylinder. Install rings (8) on each side of the cylinder head bearing. 6. Install pin (9) and bar to hold the cylinder in position. 7. Install four bolts (10) to fasten the bracket assembly to the frame. 8. Install hose assemblies (11) and (12) on the axle suspension cylinder. 9. Lift machine with tooling (A) and remove metal blocks (13). Lower machine and remove tooling (A). 10. With hydraulic tube assemblies in position install eight clamps (14). Install clamp on the tube assembly on the back of bracket assembly (7). 11. Install tooling (B) and a hoist on fender (15). Install fender in position on the cab and frame.Disassemble Axle Suspension Cylinders
START BY:a) remove axle suspension cylinders 1. Put axle suspension cylinder assembly in position on tooling (A). Remove bolts (1) and make a separation of the rod end (2) of the cylinder from the head end (3) of cylinder. 2. Loosen the nut on the rod end of the cylinder with tooling (B). 3. Remove nut (5) and piston assembly (4). 4. Remove seal assembly (7) and wear ring (6) from the piston. 5. Remove seal assembly (9) from head (8).
