Install part 8X-6394 to the canopy (Figure 3) by tacking the part in place (Figures 4 & 5).

Weld part 8X-6394 to the canopy using a 6mm Fillet Weld (Figure 6). Remove weld tacks as they are approached. The weld shall be free from cracks, porosity, undercut, and incomplete fusion. All weld quality shall conform to ANSI/AWS D1.1, D14.3.

Install new rubber baffle 8X-6365 to part 8X-6394 using the following hardware: 2X 8X-6366 Plate, 4X 9B-7237 Bolt, and 4X 5P-1075 Washer (Figure 7).

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE APPLIES ONLY TO TRUCK BODIES 278-0638 AND 281-2812:
One of each of the following parts must be fabricated for this rework:
Indicator Plate - Make from ASTM A108 Grade 1018 or ASTM A576 Grade 1018 or ASTM A36/A36M material; Quantity of 1 required per truck body.
Fabricate this part according to the dimensions shown (Figures 8 - 11).
Indicator Plate Assembly - Make from Indicator Plate and 4X Weld Nut (3/8 - 16 Thread); Quantity of 1 required per truck body. Fabricate this part according to picture shown (Figure 12).

Prepare the Truck Body Canopy for welding by covering the areas that are not to be welded with weld blankets to insure that paint, wires, hoses, and other miscellaneous items are not damaged by welding or grinding. Remove the current body down indicator (Figure 13).

Install new Indicator Plate Assembly to the canopy (Figure 15) by tacking the part in place (Figures 16 & 17).
