Engine News SEBD9398, 15 May 2006, "An Improved Jacket Water Pump is Used". The original article has been revised because the pump was canceled and replaced and the pump is not exclusive to engines rated at 1500 rpm. The title is also slightly different.Description of Change: An improved water pump has been introduced for G3516 and G3520 Engines. The following improvements have been made to the water pump:
The material for the impeller shaft helps prevent corrosion.
The water seal is a one-piece unit.
A more rugged design of the pump housing
Improved harmonics for the impeller and for the impeller shaftAdaptable To: The 258-8725 Water Pump Gp is used instead of the former 235-4535 Water Pump Gp. The new water pump groups are used within the water pump groups that are listed in the following tables. The improved pump is adaptable to the engines that are listed above. Serial number effectivity is listed in the tables below.
