(2) ICPS ECMThe Electronic Control Module (ECM) (1) controls most of the engine functions. The module is an environmentally sealed unit that is mounted to the engine. The ECM monitors various inputs from sensors to control the engine. The ECM supports the following primary functions:
Start/stop control
Injection timing control
Governing of the engine
Data link communications
Diagnostics of the electrical system
Monitoring and protection of engine operationThe In Cylinder Pressure Sensor (ICPS) ECM (2) supports the following function:
Monitoring of the ICPSThe modules do not have a removable personality module. The software is changed by programming a flash file into the module via the Cat® Electronic Technician (ET).
