245B ( 6MF ) ExcavatorsDescription of Change: Either a new or an improved cable assembly is used in the governor control groups. The new cable for the 235C Excavator has higher tension capacity. On earlier 235C and 235B Excavators, the cable assembly may fail due to cable separation. The improved cable for the 245B Excavators changed from aluminum end sleeves to brass end sleeves. On earlier 245 and 245B Excavators, the cable assembly may bind or seize because the end sleeves vibrate loose and let contaminates enter the cable. A new cable assembly is used on 245B Excavators if the excavator is equipped with the automatic engine speed control. The new cable is shorter than the former cable and does not kink.
Adaptable To: The part numbers for the improved governor control groups have not changed. The new 9X1336 Cable Group is a direct replacement for the former 6T8468 Cable Group. The new cable group is effective with 235C (5AF460, 3WG109) Excavators. The new 9X1336 Cable Group is adaptable to earlier 235C and 235B Excavators. The part number of the improved 6T8469 Cable Assembly has not changed. The improved cable assembly is effective with 245B Excavator (6MF220). The improved cable is adaptable to earlier 245B and 245 Excavators.
The new 9X5424 Cable Assembly replaces the former 6T8469 Cable assembly when used on 245B Excavators with automatic engine speed control.
