ACTION REQUIRED
Drain the oil from the filter into a catch bucket by unscrewing the drain valve on the bottom of the filter (Image2) until oil begins to flow. After draining filter, remove the filter housing. Clean the filter housing and the base. Install the new filter element into the housing. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the seal. Reinstall the housing. Tighten the housing, making sure that the flange of the housing makes contact all around the the bottom of the filter base (the factory tightens to 90 Nm). Make sure that the drain valve on the bottom of the filter housing is closed.
Special note:
1) Before installation of new element, observe the Date Code on the top of the element (Image3). Do not used elements with the following Date Codes:
