Tap with 1/8 - 27 NPT, 11.2 mm (.440in) deep.--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: Bearing Temperature Detector Kits are now available for 680 and 800 frame single bearing generators. Bearing Temperature Detectors monitor bearing temperature, and may help to prevent premature failure by indicating the existence of bearing problems. These problems may include insufficient lubrication, excessive lubrication, bearing overload, and bearing defects. There are two types of Bearing Temperature Detectors. The 6I-4906 Bearing Temperature Detector Kit has platinum (100 Ohm) RTD, and the 6I-4907 Bearing Temperature Detector Kit has copper (10 Ohm) RTD.
Adaptable To: Bearing Temperature Detector Kits, 6I-4906 and 6I-4907, are directly adaptable to the following generators. See Chart A. Generators built prior to these serial numbers must be modified by adding a hole to the bearing bracket. See illustration 1.
