This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3573" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3573" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Program only applies to Parts Stock and new Affected Product in dealer inventory.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the February 25, 1992 (Revised August 1992) Service Letter. A change was made to the Affected Product.

Track roller groups on certain 219D, 225D, 227, 229D, and 235C Hydraulic Excavators may have incorrect surface finish on roller shafts. Operation of excavators with these rollers can result in scoring of the roller bearing that leads to loss of lubricant and subsequent roller failure.

Parts Stock
Remove all 8E4573, 8E4576, and 8E4579 Roller Groups from parts stock, rework as instructed in the attached Rework Procedure, and return to parts stock.
Affected Product
Remove roller groups that have been identified for rework from the Affected Product and rework the roller shaft to an acceptable surface finish as instructed in the attached Rework Procedure.

Submit a claim for all 8E4573, 8E4576, and 8E4579 Roller Groups reworked from parts stock. One and one half hours labor will be allowed for each roller reworked.

Rollers should be identified as needing rework by locating the date code on either the end of roller shaft (6) or on the machined mounting flat of end collar (7). If the code is MT-A- 91 through MT-I-91, the roller must be reworked. If the roller has been reworked in the factory, a "QR" or "MR" will be stamped on end collar (3). These rollers that were reworked at the factory do not need to be reworked.
