(1) This tool is an alternative Valve Spring Compressor ToolStart By:
Remove the cylinder head.
Remove the gas admission valve.
Remove the prechamber ignition body.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Put the cylinder head assembly in position on Tool (A). Put the cylinder head assembly in position so that the valve seat faces upward.

Install Tool (B) in the position that is shown in Illustration 2. The threaded end of the bolt must face downward.

Turn the cylinder head to a position of 90° on Tool (A). Install the plate (1) and the nut. The plate (1) can be fabricated from 35.5 mm (1.40 inch) flat stock. The plate must measure 32 mm (1.25 inch) by 133 mm (5.25 inch) with a 16.5 mm (0.65 inch) hole at the center. The plate will hold the valves when the valve stems are turned upward.

Install the compressor plate (3). This plate is part of Tool (B). Install the nut and the washer.Note: Loosen the nut that holds the plate (1) to allow the bolt to move. The nut is a part of Tool (B).
Loosen the nut that holds the plate (1) to allow the bolt to move enough to compress the springs (4). This action also allows you to remove the locks (2). The nut is a part of Tool (B).
Compress the springs with Tool (C) and remove the locks (2).Note: The following two steps show an alternate method of compressing the valve springs.

Install Tool (D) and install Tool (B) without the hydraulic cylinder. Refer to Illustration 5. Move the handle downward to compress the spring (4).

Do not remove or install the spring locks with your fingers. If the spring should move, personal injury may result.
Use a magnet to remove the locks (2).

Release the pump pressure with Tool (C). Remove the compressor plate (3) with Tool (B).

Remove the four rotocoil assemblies (5).

Remove four outer springs (6) and the four inner springs (7).
Inspect the outer valve spring (6) and the inner valve spring (7).
