A new power board assembly has two special capacitors assembled as part of the power board. Formerly, a single capacitor was mounted separately on the rear cover of the magneto. The new design lowers the voltage to the zener diode for longer diode life, and increases transformer output for better performance, especially at low rpm.
... A new plug assembly has different wire connections for the change in capacitor location.
... A new pulser coil assembly is thicker, has larger diameter pins, and is machined for rotor clearance. The increased thickness makes the assembly more rigid to prevent possible broken wires or loose pins caused by heat expansion or mechanical distortion. The machined clearance increases the surface area and gives better control of tolerances between the pins and the end of the rotor. At the same time, a stronger magnet is used in the 6N4359 Rotor Assembly, but the part number is not changed.
The improvements will increase the service life of the magneto, and permit maximum output at a slower rpm for easier starts in cold weather.
