Attach a suitable lifting device to centershift cylinder (1). The weight of centershift cylinder (1) is approximately 54 kg (120 lb).
Remove bolts (3) and remove cap (2). Note: Note the shims and inserts for installation purposes.
Start the engine and run the engine. Use the hydraulics on the machine in order to retract rod assembly (4).
Stop the engine. Release the system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

Disconnect hose assemblies (8).
Remove clamp (5).
Remove bolts (7) and remove cap (6). Note: Note the shims and inserts for installation purposes.

Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

F 183-3424 Grease Cartridge 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Attach a suitable lifting device to centershift cylinder (1). The weight of centershift cylinder (1) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).
Position centershift cylinder (1) on the machine.
Apply Tooling (F) between inserts (6B) and ballstuds (6A). Install cap (6) and install bolts (7). Note: As required, use shims (6C) in order to allow the socket to move freely around ballstud (6A). Assemble the same quantity of shims (6C) on both sides of ballstud (6A).

Start the engine and run the engine. Use the hydraulics on the machine in order to extend rod assembly (4).
Stop the engine.
Apply Tooling (F) between inserts (2B) and ballstuds (2A). Install cap (2) and install bolts (3). Note: As required, use shims (2C) in order to allow the socket to move freely around ballstud (2A). Assemble the same quantity of shims (2C) on both sides of ballstud (2A).
