Removal Procedure
Start By:
If necessary, remove the clean emissions module. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Emissions Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Slide locking tab (2) into the unlocked position. Disconnect harness assembly (1). Slide connection for harness assembly (1) from the bracket (3).
Loosen Allen head bolts (5). Ensure that at least three threads of the Allen head bolts are retained in the inlet air control assembly (6).

Position a suitable tool in contact with the exhaust gas valve (4) at Position (A). Use a uniform force on the tool in order to remove the exhaust gas valve (4) out of the inlet air control assembly (6).

Remove bolts (5). Remove the exhaust gas valve (4) from the inlet air control assembly (6). Note: Do not twist the exhaust gas valve as the exhaust gas valve is removed from the inlet air control assembly.
Remove O-ring seal (7). Installation Procedure
Ensure that all components are clean and free from wear and damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.

Ensure that the bore in inlet air control assembly (6) for exhaust gas valve (4) is clean and free from damage. If necessary, replace the inlet air control assembly.
If the original exhaust gas valve (4) is to be installed, ensure that the sealing surfaces are clean and free from damage.
Install a new O-ring seal (7) to the exhaust gas valve (4).
Lightly lubricate the surfaces of exhaust gas valve (4) with clean engine oil.
Install the exhaust gas valve (4) to the inlet air control assembly (6).
Install Allen head bolts (5) to exhaust gas valve (4). Tighten Allen head bolts to a torque of 9 N m (80 lb in).
Slide the connection for harness assembly (1) onto bracket (3). Connect harness assembly (1). Slide locking tab (2) into the locked position. End By:
