Battery Disconnect Switch
The battery disconnect switch is located at the rear of the machine near the batteries. ON -Insert the key, and turn it clockwise to activate the electrical system. The switch must be on before starting the engine. OFF -Turn the key counterclockwise to shut off the entire electrical system.The disconnect switch serves a different function than the start switch. When turned off, the disconnect switch disables the entire electrical system. When only the start switch is turned off, the battery remains connected to the electrical system.Remove the key when leaving the machine for an extended period of time, such as overnight. Also remove the key when servicing the electrical system.
Never turn the disconnect key to OFF with the engine running. Electrical system damage could result.
Engine Start Switch
OFF (1) -Insert and remove the engine start switch key from the OFF position only. Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position before trying to restart the engine. Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position to stop the engine. ON (2) -Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position to activate all cab circuits. The key returns to the ON position when released from the START position. START (3) -Turn the engine start switch key to the START position to crank the engine. Release the key as soon as the engine starts. If the engine does not start, return the key to OFF before returning it to START.For details, refer to Engine Starting in the Operation Section of this manual.Parking Brake
Do not apply the parking brake while the machine is moving unless an emergency exists. The use of the parking brake as a service brake in regular operation will cause severe damage to the parking brake system.
The parking brake knob is located on the operators control panel.Push the knob down to apply the parking brake.Pull the knob up to release the parking brake. The propel control lever must be in the STOP position before the parking brake can be released and the machine is allowed to propel.Steering Wheel
The directional steering, to the left or right, is controlled by the steering wheel. Left Turn -Move the steering wheel in a counterclockwise direction to steer the machine to the left. The further the steering wheel is turned in a counterclockwise direction, the sharper the left turn. Right Turn -Move the steering wheel in a clockwise direction to steer the machine to the right. The further the steering wheel is turned in a clockwise direction, the sharper the right turn. The steering frame lock pin must be removed to steer the machine. FWD (1) -Slowly push the propel lever forward, away from center, to move the machine forward. The farther forward the lever is pushed the faster the machine will travel. STOP (2) -Move the propel control lever to the center position to stop the machine. This procedure
